Andrii Pietukhov’s comment for Suspilne Rivne TV channel
The operational director of AmberTrade (Sonyachne Remeslo Center private limited company) Andrii Pietukhov commented on the Suspilne Rivne TV channel regarding the principles of our company’s work and talked about the land reclamation process.
According to him, the reclamation of territories is an important and final stage of amber mining, the purpose of which is to restore the natural landscape and ecosystems.
“Land restoration is not only a duty of business from the point of view of legislation, but also a matter of our social responsibility to the community and ourselves,” Andrii Pietukhov notes.
According to him, each company, before obtaining a plot of land, must develop a project of land acquisition and, including, reclamation of the plot.
According to the project, reclamation is carried out after amber mining is completed. In the case of AmberTrade, it is stipulated that 10,000 pine and birch saplings should be planted on 1 hectare of reclaimed land within the scope of restoration.
“In 2021, there was a plot of 18 hectares where 180,000 seedlings were planted. As we can see now, about 98% of the seedlings on our territory have taken root,” says the operations director.
In addition, Andrii Pietukhov spoke about the peculiarities of the company’s work during martial law.
“Previously, we sent our products to the Boryspil airport, but now the logistics are built in such a way that we transport everything by road to Poland, and flights to China are already sent from Poland,” he says.
Currently, AmberTrade employs about 50 people, and many of them are residents of the Volodymyretsk community, on the territory of which the company carries out amber mining using the quarry method.
The company operates completely legally and pays all taxes, and the main principle in the work of AmberTrade is social responsibility. Taking care of your community and country makes them better and helps create more comfortable conditions for living and working.
